“Honda Motor Co., Ltd. (NYSE:HMC) is trying its hand at social media advertising; the auto maker has released a Facebook virtual community game in conjunction with the US launch of its sports hybrid coupe, the Honda CR-Z, reports Mashable.com Monday. Cie Games launched the game earlier this month, which allows players to customize, virtually purchase, and store vehicles in virtual garages. Players can take road trips, earn points by completing challenges and purchase extra cars and vehicle-related services. SmarTrend is bullish on shares of Honda Motor and our subscribers were alerted to buy on July 14, 2010 at $30.76. The stock has risen 7.6% since the alert was issued. On Thursday, June 17, Honda hosted Kazunori Yamauchi, the legendary creator of Gran Turismo video game, at its booth during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) for a live Twitter Q&A. Taku Imasaki, the North American Producer of Gran Tursimo, talks about the relationship with Honda and about CR-Z’s inclusion in the upcoming release of Gran Turismo 5. Honda’s CR-Z sporty hybrid coupe will be the first of its kind in Gran Turismo. Evocative of many video games, the two-passenger CR-Z introduces a number of interactive features including a new three-mode drive system that allows the driver to select between Sport, Econ (Economy) and Normal driving models.
